NFKC Club Rules & Conduct Policy

The North Florida Kart Club (NFKC) was established to promote and support grassroots kart racing in the Jacksonville area. To uphold this mission, all participants—including drivers, crew, and families—are expected to adhere strictly to the rules outlined in our official documentation.

Rulebook Summary

It is the responsibility of every competitor and their family to understand and follow these rules. You can download a complete rulebook below. Please keep the following high-level guidelines in mind:

  • Compliance: Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for non-compliance. If a rule does not explicitly permit an action, you should assume it is not allowed.

  • Safety Gear: All drivers must meet strict safety gear requirements, including full-face helmets (Snell or SFI rated), neck supports, and abrasion-resistant racing suits.

  • Technical Inspections: Karts are subject to mandatory pre-race safety inspections. Additionally, karts are subject to post-race technical inspections to ensure fair competition.

  • On-Track Conduct: Drivers must race responsibly and prioritize safety. Careless or reckless driving will result in penalties, which can range from verbal warnings to immediate disqualification or ejection.

  • Rule Enforcement: All rules apply to every NFKC-sanctioned event and cannot be verbally overridden during a driver’s meeting. Any situations not covered by the NFKC rulebook will default to the Cup Karts North America (CKNA) Rulebook.

Sportsmanship & Conduct Policy

NFKC is committed to hosting family-friendly events. All coaches, mechanics, parents, racers, volunteers, and spectators are expected to behave in a sportsmanlike manner at all times—both on and off the track.

  • Respectful Behavior: All attendees must treat each other and race officials with respect. Confrontations, yelling, profanity, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Sensitive Areas: Respectful behavior is especially critical in sensitive areas such as the scale and technical inspection zones.

  • Online Conduct: Competitors and families are expected to maintain respectful behavior on social media. Disputes should be handled privately rather than aired publicly.

  • Responsibility: Drivers (over 18 years of age) are held responsible for the behavior of their crew, coaches, and guests. The same applies for Parents when the Driver is under 18years of age.

Penalty Policy

Any individual whose conduct is deemed unbecoming, unsportsmanlike, or abusive will face disciplinary action:

  • Warnings & Removal: Aggressive behavior will result in a minimum of a warning and may lead to immediate removal from the 103rd Street Sports Complex at the discretion of NFKC Board members.

  • Immediate Expulsion: Threatening language or physical altercations will result in immediate expulsion from the facility.

  • Disqualification & Suspension: Conduct violations result in non-droppable penalties, which may include disqualification from the event or suspension from future races.

  • Law Enforcement: If necessary, NFKC reserves the right to involve local law enforcement to ensure the safety and integrity of our events.
